I have always been fascinated by nature and light. I remember years back we had those wonderful winters, with snowfalls and snowfights... Street lamps and snowflakes. Dark blue skies and white trees covered in a fluffy blanket of snow. Festive Christmas period as always filled up with anticipation and wonder for a little kid! This is what this painting means to me: childhood memories, happiness, laughter and joy.
As always I build a painting up: base colour adding touch of paint here and there, brush stroke after brush stroke, drip after drip, adding extra pigment to achieve depth and richness of colour
Appearance of the painting
I hand stretch my paintings and this artwork is no exception. Ypu will never get a boxed canvas from me! All the staples are on reverse of the painting. It is signed on the back too, not to spoil the overall effect of art. Sides are paintes, so you can go ahead and hang the painting straight away, saving time and money on framing and keeping contemporary look.
Finding or choosing the right spot for your art
Square painting, medium size, is ideal above the staircase or little drawer you have in the hall. Kitchen and nursery would be a safe bet too. Anywhere you fancy!
