Inspiration behind the painting
I love sun, sunshine and hot weather! I tried to replicate the beauty of the sun rays and autumn sunshine in this original artwork. I love the way this painting has light reflecting through the ridges of texture and adding 3 dimensional effect to it.
Creative process
This is mixed media artwork, that was created on canvas. I added numerous layers of gesso (textured paste) on canvas, creating intricate design in circular movements. Then I covered the surface with individual gold leaves, let it dry completely and added extra layers of acrylic paint. I love the way the paint pools in certain areas, adding to the rich colours of the artwork.
