Inspiration behind the painting

Very powerful combination of deep rich red and burgundy acrylic on gold leaf covered textured artwork. Lovely combination of colours and layers of paint creating a powerful abstract landscape, inspired by sunset on sandy Goan beaches.

Creative process

This is mixed media painting on canvas: layers of gesso creating shapes and 3D effect. Individual gold leaf placed to cover the base of the painting, with more layers of acrylic paint and gloss varnish for extra protection and depth of colour. 

Appearance of the painting

Textured artwork, 3D effect, gold leaf and acrylic paint. Sides are gold leafed and stapled and signed on the back.
