Passing Through Light

Passing Through Light is an original abstract painting by London-based artist Paresh Nrshinga. Light seems to move through the surface rather than simply sit upon it. A palette of mauve, smoky grey, ochre, muted gold and crimson creates a sense of warmth, transition and luminosity, while freer gestures keep the painting alive and prevent the composition from feeling static.

Expressive gestures are balanced by quieter areas, creating a composition that feels instinctive yet resolved. From a distance the work reads as a strong whole; at closer range, smaller shifts in mauve, smoky grey, ochre, muted gold and crimson, layering and mark-making begin to reveal themselves.

At 71 × 100 × 4 cm, Passing Through Light has enough presence to hold a contemporary living space, entrance hall, office, hotel or other architectural interior without overwhelming it. Its wide format gives it a particularly strong architectural presence. It is a work designed to be lived with, revealing different relationships between colour, movement and space over time.
