When the artwork leads the design

An original painting for a Bombardier Global 5000 became the starting point for a remarkable interior collaboration with Winch Design. Created for the aircraft’s Owner’s Lounge, the work brought an expressive new language of colour, movement and individuality to the cabin.

Rather than being added to a finished interior, the painting helped set its direction.

The creative approach

A very different canvas

The brief was to give an existing aircraft a distinctive, deeply personal interior. A bold abstract composition, painted for the aft bulkhead, became the focal point of the Owner’s Lounge. Its colours informed details throughout the cabin, from upholstery to the surrounding finishes.

Aviation brought its own practical considerations. The artwork was developed for an aircraft interior using specialist materials and a process that had to meet stringent safety requirements. The result retained the spontaneity of the painting while becoming an integral part of Winch Design’s carefully realised scheme.
