Landscape and portrait abstract paintings

A long landscape canvas suits the wall above a sofa, bed or dining table, while a portrait work adds height to hallways and alcoves. Because Paresh signs his paintings on the reverse, many can hang in either direction, so you decide how the movement reads in your space.

Questions collectors ask

How wide should a painting be above a sofa?
As a guide, around two thirds the width of the sofa, hung with the lower edge 8 to 10 in above the back.

Where does a portrait painting work best?
In hallways, stairwells, beside doorways and on narrower walls, where height matters more than width.

Can I see a painting in person?
Yes. Private visits to Paresh’s London studio are available by appointment.
