Shadow and Gesture is an original abstract painting by London-based artist Paresh Nrshinga. The atmosphere is deeper and more dramatic, with a palette of black and white creating contrast, tension and a feeling of space beyond the surface. Light and darker passages appear to push against one another, giving the painting a quiet intensity rather than simple decoration.
Broad, fluid gestures give the painting its immediate impact, while softer layered passages introduce depth and moments of pause. The eye follows the movement across the surface, discovering changes in density, tone and rhythm that keep the composition active without feeling chaotic.
At 112 × 140 cm, Shadow and Gesture has enough presence to hold an office, hotel, reception area or other large architectural interior without overwhelming it. Its vertical format draws the eye upward and gives the work a strong sense of presence. It is a work designed to be lived with, revealing different relationships between colour, movement and space over time.
