Northern Winds
A cold wind can carry colour with it. Here violet, lilac and deep red sweep across a long canvas, while flashes of turquoise and white break through like light on ice. Dark accents hold the edges, so the movement seems to rush towards the centre and lift.
Paresh painted Northern Winds without a fixed idea of where it would go. He followed the pull of each gesture, letting one colour push the next across the canvas until the whole surface felt as if it were in motion.
There is a bracing freshness to it, the feeling of stepping outside on a clear winter morning and taking a deep breath. It brings that same energy into a room and keeps it there.
This original acrylic painting on Belgian primed canvas by London-based artist Paresh Nrshinga FRSA measures 36 × 60 in. Its wide landscape format sits well above a sofa or along a hallway. The sides are painted, it is ready to hang, and it is signed with a certificate of authenticity.
